Prompt craft → source-check

  • TaskOne clear job: rewrite, extract, summarise or draft — say who will read the result.
  • ConstraintsLength, tone, what to exclude, and “do not invent dates or fees” written in plain words.
  • ExampleOne short sample of the shape you want, so the model mirrors format instead of guessing.
  • Source-checkCompare every fact to the notes or message you pasted. Mark invents; refine the prompt once.

What do you practise in generative AI?

Six pieces of a workflow. Prompt constraints and source-checks carry the weight on this path.

Generative AI practice builds useful drafts with foundation models through prompting, context, structured outputs, evaluation and application workflows. At this centre the emphasis is constrained prompts and checking every claim against the source before you accept the result. Computer Education And Cybernetics (CEC) reviews that habit through mentor-checked prompt packets.

  • Foundation models

Large models that generate text or other media from prompts. They are fast and fluent — and still invent when your instructions leave gaps.

  • Prompting with constraints

Task, limits, tone and a tiny example. This is the centre of practice here: a prompt you can reuse and improve, not a one-line chat guess.

  • Context

The notes, email or short document you paste in. Tell the model to use only that material — then verify it actually did.

  • Structured outputs

Ask for bullets, a table or named fields so you can scan for missing pieces quickly. Free paragraphs alone hide invents.

  • Evaluation

A short checklist: format correct, facts match source, invents zero, tone fits. Re-run after every prompt edit.

  • Application workflows

Study notes, office messages and simple drafts: paste source → constrained prompt → review → accept or rewrite. The workflow is the product of practice.

Practice task

Take one short message thread. Write a prompt with task, constraints, “use only this text,” and one example bullet. Run it, then list every invent. What we do with you here: Shivani reviews that invent list before the prompt counts.

A worked example: polished notice, invented deposit

Input → what you look at → decision → what you write down. This is the prompt-and-verify habit we practise with you.

  1. The task

Turn a messy WhatsApp thread about Saturday lab timing into a three-bullet notice for classmates. Source messages say doors open at 9:30 AM, bring ID card — no mention of fees.

  2. First weak prompt

“Make a nice notice.” The model adds “₹200 refundable deposit” and “arrive by 9:00.” Format looks polished; two facts are invented.

  3. What you look at

Source-check fails on deposit and arrival time. Constraints never said “use only the pasted messages” or “omit anything not stated.”

  4. The decision

Rewrite the prompt: task, audience, three bullets max, “use only the WhatsApp text,” “if a detail is missing write Unknown,” plus one example bullet shape.

  5. After the fix

Bullets match 9:30 and ID card. Missing fee becomes “Unknown — not in source.” Shivani accepts the draft only after the invents are gone.

  6. What you write down

Before/after prompts, the invent list, and the checklist scores. That packet is generative AI practice — not the first pretty notice.

Where is generative AI practice heading?

Prompts get drafted faster. Invents still slip in. What we do with you here: every workflow keeps constraints and a source-check.

  • Assistants draft prompts for you

Tools suggest longer instructions quickly. You still add constraints and run a source-check — a long prompt without limits invents just as easily.

  • Everyday work still needs human verify

Study and office drafts stay common GenAI uses. Checking claims against the original message or notes remains the skill that does not expire.

Where generative helpers still fail

  • It writes a polished notice that adds fees or times never present in the source
  • It ignores “use only this text” when the prompt never states a refuse rule for missing facts
  • It suggests a friendlier tone while quietly changing the meaning of the original message

Generative AI practice is shifting toward assistant-drafted prompts and everyday study or office drafts, while invented fees and times from vague instructions remain a common failure. The stable skills are constrained prompting and human source-checks. Computer Education And Cybernetics (CEC) trains learners to keep those habits in every generative workflow.

How we teach generative AI

About 80% practical — with mentor review of your invent list, not only a pretty draft.

  1. 1. Counseling places your first GenAI step

Prompt practice on documents and messages, or a later path into coding. School learners of any grade start with counseling first.

  2. 2. Shivani Sharma reviews your constraints

She teaches prompt engineering. She sends the draft back if invents appear or the prompt never said “use only this source.”

  3. 3. You craft, then you source-check

About 80% of training time is practical. You improve one constraint at a time and re-check every claim.

  4. 4. You leave with a prompt packet

Before/after prompts, invent list and checklist scores — evidence for mentoring and interviews.

At Computer Education And Cybernetics (CEC), generative AI starts with counseling, then constrained prompts, structured shapes and source-checks reviewed by mentors such as Shivani Sharma. Learners leave with a prompt packet they can explain in interviews. We stay with you until you get a job, based on your performance in training, projects and interviews.

Questions about generative AI

  • What is generative AI?

AI that creates new text or other media from a prompt and context. Practical work covers foundation models, prompting with constraints, context, structured outputs, evaluation and application workflows — always with a source-check before you trust the result.

  • How do you write a useful generative AI prompt?

State the task, constraints, audience and one short example of the shape you want. Tell the model to use only the pasted source and to mark Unknown when a detail is missing. Then compare every claim to that source.

  • Why does source-checking matter?

Fluent models invent fees, times and names when instructions are vague. In our lab-notice example, a “nice notice” prompt added a deposit that was never in the WhatsApp thread. Constrained prompts plus a checklist catch that.

  • How is this different from Maninagar generative AI?

Maninagar focuses on evaluation sets and score sheets before prompt changes. This Nikol page centres on prompt craft — task, constraints, example and source-check — with mentor review from prompt-engineering faculty at Satyam Plaza.

  • Do I need Python for generative AI here?

Not for the first prompting and verification workflows. Counseling may place Python later if you move toward GenAI developer or LLM app paths. After 10th or 12th anyone can apply; school learners of any grade start with counseling first.

  • Where is generative AI practice heading?

Assistants draft longer prompts for you, and everyday study or office drafts stay common. Constraints and human source-checks stay valuable when tools change.

  • How does CEC help you practise generative AI?

Shivani Sharma teaches prompt engineering here. You write constrained prompts, structured shapes and source-check lists on real study or office tasks — about 80% practical. We stay with you until you get a job, based on your performance in training, projects and interviews.

  • Who is this path for?

College students, career changers and working professionals who want practical generative AI workflows. Counseling maps how this sits beside citywide GenAI developer or prompt-engineering guides.
