Computer Vision Course in Maninagar, Ahmedabad
Computer vision here starts with a clear question: one label for the whole image, or every object with a box? Then you preprocess, train a neural network and evaluate a project you can explain. At Computer Education And Cybernetics (CEC), Tanvi Darji reviews that task decision before labels count. The lab is ~2 minutes from maninagar railway station.

Classify or detect — decide first
- QuestionAsk what the image must answer: one label for the whole photo, or every object with a box?
- LabelsClassification needs one class per crop. Detection needs a box and a class for each object.
- PreprocessResize and normalise only after the task is fixed — the crop strategy changes with the choice.
- EvaluateClassification uses accuracy or precision per class. Detection needs box overlap (IoU) as well.

What do you practise in computer vision?
Four building blocks. The first decision — classify or detect — shapes every block that follows.
Computer vision teaches machines to interpret images through preprocessing, neural networks and a chosen task: classification (one label per image) or detection (objects with boxes). Practice includes preparing labels that match the task, training on held-out evaluation sets and writing a project note of failures. Computer Education And Cybernetics (CEC) reviews the task decision before learners invest in labelling.
Image preprocessing
Resize every image to one size, scale pixel values, and keep lighting consistent so the network sees comparable inputs. Wrong crops after a bad task choice waste this step.
Classification
One label for the whole image or crop — for example “pass” or “fail”. You measure how often that label is right on images the model never trained on.
Detection
Find each object and draw a box with a label. You score both whether the class is right and how well the box overlaps the true location.
Neural networks for vision
Convolutional networks learn edges then shapes from pixel grids. You still choose the task, prepare labels and evaluate honestly — the network does not invent the question.
Practice task
Before you open any training notebook, write two sentences: the question the image must answer, and whether the answer is one label or boxes. What we do with you here: Tanvi reviews that note before you draw a single label.
A worked example: high accuracy, wrong question
Input → what you look at → decision → what you write down. This is the task-choice habit we practise with you.
The request
A mentor gives you 400 shelf photos. Stakeholders say they want “an AI for messy shelves.” You write two possible questions before any code: (A) Is this whole shelf tidy or messy? (B) Find every misplaced box and mark it.
First wrong path
You train a classifier that outputs tidy or messy. Accuracy on a held-out set reaches 88%. Stakeholders then ask where the misplaced boxes are — the model cannot answer. The task was detection all along.
What you look at
Your labels: one folder-level tag per photo. Detection needs boxes. Preprocessing resized full shelves for classification; for detection you would keep higher resolution and annotate boxes.
The decision
Stop the classification run. Redraw the plan as detection: annotate boxes on 250 images, keep 80 for validation and 70 for a final test, and measure IoU plus class errors — not overall tidy/messy accuracy.
After the fix
A detection model finds most misplaced boxes. Some false boxes appear on glare and stacked shadows. You note those failure types instead of claiming the shelf problem is solved.
What you write down
The two candidate questions, why classification failed the real need, label counts, IoU threshold you used, and remaining failure types. That note is the project evidence — not the first accuracy number.

Where is computer vision practice heading?
Models get smaller and pre-trained. The classify-or-detect question does not disappear. What we do with you here: every project keeps a written task decision and matching labels.
Annotation quality decides project speed
Pre-trained vision models shorten training, but someone still draws boxes or picks classes carefully. Sloppy labels create models that look confident and fail on the next camera angle.
Cameras push lighter, on-device models
More projects run vision on phones or edge devices. You still start with a clear classify-or-detect question; a smaller network does not fix a wrong task.
Where vision helpers still fail
- It treats “tidy vs messy” as enough when stakeholders need every misplaced object marked
- It drafts detection code while your folders only contain whole-image tags
- Vision-language models describe a shelf fluently without saying where the error is
Computer vision practice is shifting toward careful annotation for pre-trained models and lighter on-device cameras, while answering the wrong image question remains a common failure. The stable skills are choosing classification or detection first, preparing matching labels and evaluating with the right metric. Computer Education And Cybernetics (CEC) trains learners to keep those habits in every vision project.
How we teach computer vision
About 80% practical — with mentor review of your task decision and labels, not only a demo screenshot.
1. Counseling writes the task first
Classify or detect? We check Python comfort and whether machine learning should come before vision projects. School learners of any grade start with counseling first.
2. Tanvi Darji reviews your labels
She teaches data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence. She sends the project back if folders only have whole-image tags while the brief needs boxes.
3. You preprocess, train and evaluate
About 80% of training time is practical. You keep preprocessing notes and the metric that matches the task — accuracy for classification, IoU for detection.
4. You leave with a vision project note
Task decision, label counts, scores and failure types — evidence you can open in an interview, not a demo that answers the wrong question.
At Computer Education And Cybernetics (CEC), computer vision starts with counseling on classify versus detect, then labels, preprocessing, training and evaluation notes reviewed by mentors such as Tanvi Darji. Learners leave with a project note they can explain in interviews. We stay with you until you get a job, based on your performance in training, projects and interviews.

Questions about computer vision
What is computer vision?
The part of AI that interprets images and video. Practice covers image preprocessing, choosing classification or detection, training neural networks on labelled photos, and evaluating on images the model has not seen.
How do you decide between classification and detection?
Ask what the image must answer. One label for the whole photo means classification. Finding each object with a location means detection. Write that decision before you resize images or draw labels — changing it later means redoing labels and evaluation.
What is image preprocessing in computer vision?
Making inputs consistent: same size, scaled pixel values, and lighting that does not fight the model. The crop and resolution you choose depend on whether you classify a whole image or detect objects inside it.
Do I need deep learning before computer vision?
You need comfort with Python and the idea of labelled examples. Counseling may place machine learning or deep learning practice first when that base is missing. After 10th or 12th anyone can apply; school learners of any grade start with counseling before a course.
Where is computer vision practice heading?
Pre-trained models and on-device cameras are common, but annotation quality and a clear classify-or-detect question still decide whether a project succeeds. Fluent image descriptions from AI tools do not replace box-level evaluation when locations matter.
How does CEC help you practise computer vision?
Tanvi Darji teaches data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence here. You write the task decision, prepare labels, preprocess, train and finish a project note — about 80% practical. We stay with you until you get a job, based on your performance in training, projects and interviews.
Who is this path for?
College students, career changers and working professionals who want project-level computer vision practice. If classic machine learning is still new, counseling may start you there first.
How is this different from the citywide computer vision page?
The Ahmedabad computer vision guide covers the full pixel-to-evaluation path. This Maninagar page focuses on choosing classification versus detection before you build, with local counseling and lab proof at Gopal Tower.
How do I reach the Maninagar lab?
CEC Maninagar is ~2 minutes from Maninagar Railway Station, on the 2nd floor of Gopal Tower. BRTS, AMTS both serve the area. Learners also come from Kankaria, Isanpur, Ghodasar, Khokhra, Meghaninagar, Danilimda. Call +91 75740 10176 before you visit.
